Remaja yang tumbuh sebagai anak tunggal berpotensi lebih rentan merasakan kesepian karena tidak memiliki saudara kandung yang dapat menjadi teman berinteraksi dan berbagi pengalaman dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di rumah. Salah satu faktor psikologis yang diperkirakan dapat membantu menekan perasaan kesepian tersebut adalah welas asih diri, yaitu kemampuan individu untuk bersikap penuh penerimaan, pengertian, dan kebaikan terhadap diri sendiri ketika menghadapi kesulitan atau menyadari keterbatasan yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji pengaruh welas asih diri terhadap kesepian pada remaja yang berstatus anak tunggal. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 113 remaja anak tunggal yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sesuai dengan karakteristik yang telah ditentukan. Tingkat kesepian diukur menggunakan UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, sedangkan welas asih diri diukur dengan Self-Compassion Scale. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan melalui analisis regresi sederhana untuk mengetahui apakah welas asih diri memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap tingkat kesepian pada remaja yang berstatus anak tunggal
