Abstrak

Mahasiswa tingkat akhir sering menghadapi berbagai tekanan dan tuntutan akademis yang tinggi sehingga lebih rentan mengalami fear of failure. Kondisi ini dapat menghambat mahasiswa dalam menunjukkan performa akademik secara optimal karena munculnya kekhawatiran berlebihan terhadap kemungkinan gagal. Sejumlah faktor diduga berkontribusi terhadap munculnya fear of failure, di antaranya adalah tipe kepribadian neuroticism dan harga diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh neuroticism dan harga diri terhadap fear of failure pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Partisipan penelitian terdiri atas 110 mahasiswa tingkat akhir dari Universitas X di Jakarta. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa neuroticism dan harga diri secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap fear of failure pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa harga diri memiliki kontribusi yang sedikit lebih besar dibandingkan neuroticism dalam menjelaskan variasi fear of failure pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir.
