MORAL DISENGAGEMENT DI MEDIA SOSIAL: MEMAHAMI PERAN USIA, TINGKAT PENDIDIKAN DAN GENDER

Kebebasan di media sosial kerap disertai munculnya komentar bernada menghina, merendahkan, atau mencela pihak lain. Anggapan kewajaran terkait hal ini dapat mendorong individu mengalami moral disengagement, yaitu proses kognitif yang memungkinkan seseorang membenarkan tindakan yang bertentangan dengan standar moral yang berlaku. Tingkat pemahaman moral seseorang diperkirakan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai karakteristik demografis, seperti usia, pendidikan, dan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan usia, tingkat pendidikan, dan jenis kelamin dengan moral disengagement pada pengguna media sosial di Indonesia. Data diperoleh melalui survei daring yang mencakup informasi demografis dan skala moral disengagement yang telah memenuhi kriteria validitas melalui expert judgment, content validity ratio (CVR), dan corrected item-total correlation. Sebanyak 329 responden berusia 14–24 tahun terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi berganda dan uji t. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa usia dan pendidikan secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap moral disengagement, sedangkan secara terpisah hanya pendidikan yang terbukti menjadi prediktor signifikan. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan tingkat moral disengagement antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Temuan ini memberikan dasar empiris bagi pengembangan upaya pencegahan dan pengurangan moral disengagement di media sosial.
