KESEPIAN, KECEMASAN SOSIAL DAN PROBLEMATIC INTERNET USE PADA MAHASISWA PENGGUNA INSTAGRAM
Abstract
Problematic internet use menjadi salah satu fenomena yang seringkali dijumpai pada mahasiswa. Hal ini menjadi perhatian penting bagi banyak peneliti, terutama mengenai penggunaan internet yang berlebihan, khususnya dalam mengakses media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kesepian dan kecemasan sosial terhadap problematic internet use. Penelitian ini melibatkan 130 orang mahasiswa yang menggunakan media sosial Instagram minimal 5 jam dalam sehari. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara kesepian dan kecemasan sosial terhadap problematic internet use sebesar 20.3%. Riset ini menunjukkan bahwa kecemasan sosial memiliki pengaruh yang lebih kuat dibandingkan kesepian, dikarenakan mahasiswa yang mengalami kecemasan sosial lebih membutuhkan hubungan yang tetap dan aman ketika menjalin komunikasi, sehingga dengan adanya media sosial Instagram dapat menjadi ruang virtual untuk mencari kedamaian dan menutupi kekurangan, serta ketakutan yang berlebihan atas penilaian negatif tentang diri mahasiswa itu sendiri.
