EDITORIAL: PSIKOLOGI DAN PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT

Abstract
Individu seringkali menemui banyak kendala dalam memilih dan menampilkan perilaku baik apa yang dapat dilakukan, terutama terkait dengan hal positif dalam dirinya, atau kesehatan mental dirinya. Diskusi mengenai hal ini menjadi topik yang menarik mengingat kemandirian menampilkan perilaku yang baik dibutuhkan oleh setiap orang. Hal ini dapat dikaitkan dengan personal empowerment atau perasaan bahwa seseorang mampu memiliki kendali terhadap apa yang ingin dan harus dilakukan, termasuk meningkatkan kualitas personal seperti kendali emosi, pengetahuan, dan kemampuan pribadi dalam pengambilan keputusan serta pemecahkan masalah (Boyd & Bentley, 2005; Cheung, Mok, & Cheung, 2005). Personal empowerment secara sederhana dapat dilihat pada individu dengan harga diri yang positif dan kepercayaan diri yang tinggi (Garcia dkk., 2021), serta sikap dan perilaku proaktif (Moyle, Dollard, & Biswas, 2006).
