Publication Ethics

Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi only accepts original research articles and theoretical studies that have not been published elsewhere and are not in the process of being reviewed in other journals. Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi is committed to upholding ethical standards at all stages of the publication process. This ethical standard was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Turnitin software may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature.

Ethics for Editors

• Editors are responsible for the material quality of articles received
• Editors guide reviewers and writers in the articles received
• Editors are responsible for the confidentiality of peer reviewers
• Editors adhere to the principle of justice or non-discrimination against all articles received.
• Editors must prepare guidelines for all members of the editorial board.
• Editors avoid conflicts of interest of all stakeholders involved during the publishing process.

Ethics for Authors

• Authors are responsible for plagiarism and copyright infringement or other intellectual property rights on the submitted text.
• Authors must ensure that articles submitted are not being considered or accepted for publication in another journal.
• The names of the authors show who did the research and / or wrote the article.
• All authors must approve the submission of the article to the Jurnal Psikologi and give a mandate to the main author to sign the IPR form.
• If a fatal error occurs in an article published, the author must notify the editor or publisher to follow up.

Ethics for Reviewers

• Reviewers must act objectively and independently.
• Reviewers provide constructive input so that articles become worthy of publication.
• Reviewers immediately notify the editor if the article sent is indicative of plagiarism.
• During the publishing process, reviewers avoid conflicts of interest and confidentiality of an article.
• During the publishing process, reviewers must refer to Jurnal Psikologi guidelines.

PLAGIARISM

Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized, and has not been published or being considered elsewhere.  Turnitin software may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature. Inclusion of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable. Work and/or words from other publications must be appropriately cited or quoted.

REPORTING

Authors should state their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. The methods used in the work should be clearly and unambiguously described so that the findings can be repeated and confirmed by other researchers.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

A statement on conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. 

AUTHORSHIP AND COLLABORATION

Name of authors listed in a paper should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the report. Only those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the work must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. It is the duty of the corresponding author to ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper.  All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to the version of the paper before submission.

MULTIPLE OR REDUNDANT

Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research output in more than one journal or primary publication. A similar manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal concurrently as this constitutes as unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Article Processing Charges

Any articles submitted to Journal of Psychology will not be charged anything.

Publication Steps

Berikut adalah tahapan publikasi di Jurnal Publikasi:

1. Penulis melakukan register akun di OJS.
2. Penulis mengisi metadata dan menggunggah naskah dalam format .doc
3. Redaksi Jurnal Psikologi akan melakukan screening awal naskah. Tahap ini biasanya berlangsung sekitar 2-4 minggu.
4. Bagi naskah yang tidak lolos seleksi awal maka akan diinformasikan melalui email ihwal penolakan beserta alasannya secara garis besar.
5. Bagi naskah yang lolos seleksi awal maka redaksi Jurnal Psikologi akan mengirimkan (1) surat keterangan berisikan informasi lolos seleksi awal, dan (2) Pakta Integritas yang wajib diisi dan dikembalikan melalui email kepada redaksi Jurnal Psikologi.
6. Perlu diingat bahwa (1) naskah tidak akan ditindaklanjuti ke tahap berikutnya (screening oleh reviewer) jika penulis tidak mengembalikan Pakta Integritas yang sudah diisi, dan (2) tidak ada jaminan bahwa naskah yang lolos seleksi awal akan lolos screening reviewer untuk terbit.
7. Setelah Pakta Integritas diterima redaksi Jurnal Psikologi maka naskah akan melewati uji plagiarisme dengan Turnitin dengan indeks plagiarisme maksimal 20%. Jika suatu naskah memiliki indeks plagiarism melebihi 20% maka akan diinformasikan bersamaan dengan hasil review dari reviewer untuk diperbaiki dan diturunkan indeksnya.
8. Naskah dikirim ke reviewer untuk ditelaah dan dilakukan review. Proses ini biasanya berlangsung 2-6 pekan.
9. Hasil review beserta keputusan reviewer (dengan pertimbangan dewan redaksi) akan diunggah di OJS sehingga penulis bisa melihat dan mengambil hasilnya untuk dilakukan revisi.
10. Penulis melakukan revisi berdasarkan masukan reviewer paling lama 4 pekan setelah hasil review diunggah di OJS. Setelah revisi selesai maka penulis dapat mengunggah kembali hasil revisian naskah ke OJS.
11. Redaksi Jurnal Psikologi akan melakukan pengecekan ulang naskah revisian yang masuk. Jika masih ada hal-hal yang harus diperbaiki makan redaksi Jurnal Psikologi akan menghubungi penulis melalui email informasi perbaikannya, dan penulis dapat dengan segera memperbaiki dan mengirimkan kembali perbaikannya melalui email.
12. Jika tidak ada yang diperbaiki maka redaksi Jurnal Psikologi akan mengirimkan (a) Letter of Acceptance (LoA), (b) Competing Interest Statement, (c) Perjanjian Transfer Hak Cipta, dan (d) naskah proof reading ke penulis melalui email.
13. Penulis mengisi dan mengembalikan Competing Interest Statement dan Perjanjian Hak Cipta. Penulis juga wajib membaca ulang naskah proof reading untuk menghindari kesalahan dalam beberapa hal seperti judul, nama dan alamat korespondensi, dan sebagainya. Jika ada hal-hal (non konten) yang harus diperbaiki maka penulis dapat menginformasikan perbaikannya dan mengirimkan ulang naskah melalui email bersamaan dengan Competing Interest Statement dan Perjanjian Hak Cipta.
14. Penulis menunggu waktu terbit Jurnal Psikologi di edisi seperti yang sudah diinformasikan sebelumnya dalam LoA.

The following are publication stages in Jurnal Psikologi:

1. The author registers an account at OJS.
2. The author fills in the metadata and uploads the manuscript in .doc format.
3. The editors of Jurnal Psikologi will conduct an initial screening of the manuscript. This stage usually takes 2-4 weeks.
4. For manuscripts that do not pass the initial selection, its author will be informed via email regarding the rejection and the reasons in global.
5. For manuscripts that pass the initial selection, the editors of Jurnal Psikologi will send (1) a letter containing information on passing the initial selection, and (2) an Integrity Pact that must be filled out and returned via email to the editors of Jurnal Psikologi.
6. Please keep in mind that (1) manuscripts will not be followed up to the next stage (screening by reviewers) if the authors do not return the completed Integrity Pact, and (2) there is no guarantee that manuscripts that pass the initial selection will pass the reviewer's screening for publication.
7. After the Integrity Pact is received by the editors of Jurnal Psikologi, the manuscript will pass a plagiarism test with Turnitin with a maximum plagiarism index of 20%. If a manuscript has a plagiarism index exceeding 20%, it will be informed along with the results of the review from the reviewer to be corrected and lowered the index.
8. Manuscripts are sent to reviewer(s) for review. This process usually takes 2-6 weeks.
9. The results of the review along with the reviewer's decision (with the consideration of the editorial board) will be uploaded to OJS so that the author can see and take the results for revision.
10. The author makes revisions based on the reviewer's input not more than 4 weeks after the review results are uploaded to OJS. After the revision is complete, the author can re-upload the revised manuscript to OJS.
11. The editors of Jurnal Psikologi will re-check the incoming revised manuscript. If there are still things that need to be corrected, the editors of Jurnal Psikologi will contact the author via email for the correction information, and the author can immediately correct it and send the correction back via email.
12. If nothing is corrected, the editors of Jurnal Psikologi will send (1) Letter of Acceptance (LoA), (b) Competing Interest Statement, (c) Copyright Transfer Agreement, and (d) proof reading manuscript to the author via email.
13. The author fills out and returns the Competing Interest Statement and Copyright Agreement. The author is also obliged to reread the proof-reading manuscript to avoid mistakes in several matters such as title, name, and correspondence address, and so on. If there are things (non-content) that must be corrected, the author can inform the improvement and re-send the manuscript via email along with the Competing Interest Statement and Copyright Agreement.
14. The author is waiting for the publication of the Jurnal Psikologi in the edition as previously informed in the LoA.
