PERAN STRENGTH BASED PARENTING DAN LIFE SATISFACTION TERHADAP SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT PADA SISWA SMA DI BANDUNG

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana strength-based parenting dan life satisfaction remaja berperan terhadap school engagement pada siswa SMA di Bandung. Sebanyak 170 siswa SMA di Bandung menjadi responden penelitian ini. Untuk mengukur strength-based parenting, digunakan strength-based parenting Scale yang memiliki koefisien validitas berkisar 0.518-0.846, dan reliabilitas 0.942. Untuk mengukur school engagement, digunakan kuesioner hasil modifikasi alat ukur school engagement dengan kisaran koefisien validitas 0.374-0.835, dan reliabilitas 0.907. Sedangkan untuk mengukur life satisfaction digunakan Satisfaction with Life dengan koefisien validitas 0.652-0.813 dan reliabilitas 0.802. Hasil pengolahan data dengan menggunakan regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa strength-based parenting dan life satisfaction secara simultan berperan terhadap school engagement, namun secara parsial hanya strength-based parenting yang berperan, sedangkan life satisfaction tidak berperan terhadap school engagement. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan agar mempertimbangkan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar siswa, serta motivasi, sebagai faktor yang diduga turut memengaruhi school engagement.
