Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
Jurnal Ilmiah Informatika Komputer only accepts original research articles and theoretical studies that have not been published elsewhere and are not in the process of being reviewed in other journals. The journal is committed to upholding ethical standards at all stages of the publication process. These ethical standards are adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Turnitin software may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature.
Ethics for Editors
- Editors are responsible for maintaining the material quality of articles received and published.
- Editors guide reviewers and authors throughout the editorial process.
- Editors are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of peer reviewers and submitted manuscripts.
- Editors adhere to the principles of fairness and non-discrimination in evaluating submissions.
- Editors must prepare and enforce guidelines for all members of the editorial board.
- Editors avoid conflicts of interest involving all stakeholders during the publishing process.
Ethics for Authors
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are free from plagiarism and copyright infringement.
- Authors must ensure that the manuscript is not under consideration or accepted for publication in another journal.
- The names of the authors must accurately reflect those who conducted the research and/or wrote the article.
- All authors must approve the submission of the article and authorize the corresponding author to sign the IPR form.
- If a serious error is discovered in a published article, the author must notify the editor or publisher promptly.
Ethics for Reviewers
- Reviewers must act objectively and independently.
- Reviewers provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.
- Reviewers must immediately notify the editor if the manuscript indicates plagiarism or ethical misconduct.
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest.
- Reviewers evaluate manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s guidelines.
Plagiarism
Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Turnitin software may be used to detect similarities with existing publications. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable. All sources must be properly cited or quoted.
Reporting
Authors should present their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. Research methods must be described clearly so that the findings can be repeated and verified by other researchers.
Conflicts of Interest
A statement on conflicts of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that could influence the results or interpretation of the study. All sources of financial or other support must be disclosed.
Authorship and Collaboration
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. Others who contributed in a substantial way should be acknowledged. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate co-authors are included and that all co-authors approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
